Who we’re looking for: 
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Infrastructure Specialist to lead the monitoring, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of critical infrastructure services, including DHCP, DNS, DOCSIS Service Activation, and related applications. This role demands deep technical expertise in Linux environments, DNS architecture, and DHCP configuration, with a strong emphasis on security, availability, and performance.

 

What you’ll do: 

  • Design, integrate, and maintain robust DHCP and DNS infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments (e.g., Cisco CNR/PNR, Akamai, PowerDNS dnsdist + recursor).
  • Administer and support systems responsible for DOCSIS service activation, CPE diagnostics, and data collection.
  • Lead the migration and modernization of legacy systems into scalable, high-performance platforms.
  • Ensure system reliability and security through proactive monitoring, patching, certificate management, and performance tuning (e.g., RHEL).
  • Implement and enforce security best practices in alignment with industry standards and Rogers’ internal policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network, security, product, and systems engineering to support initiatives and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for system tasks using PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for system configurations, integration workflows, and operational procedures.
  • Integrate systems with CMDBs, monitoring, and orchestration tools (e.g., Nagios, Splunk, Ansible).
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide incident response support as required.

 

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing DNS and DHCP in large-scale environments (e.g., Cisco CNR/PNR plus a large scale dnsdist + recursor solution).
  • 7+ years of experience in systems administration, with a strong focus on both operating systems and application layers.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the telecommunications or ISP industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of IPv6 and dual-stack network environments.
  • Deep expertise in Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS)
  • Strong understanding of system hardening, patch management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation for system administration.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality, documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Bonus: Deep understanding of DOCSIS and Email architecture and technologies.
