Who we're looking for:
National Real Estate has an exciting opportunity for you if you are striving to work in a motivating, dynamic environment as a Municipal & Utility Relations Specialist. We are looking for a responsible and passionate team member who will administer, organize, and support multiple Outside Plant Engineering process and design deliverables. What you’ll do:
- Support Outside Plant Engineering, Access Network Engineering and other internal stakeholders with escalations to local municipalities utility companies and industrial organizations as required.
- Maintain a strong and productive working relationship for Rogers with the local municipalities utility companies and industrial organizations.
- Represent Rogers at all relevant meetings (such as PUC and planning meetings) with the municipalities, utility companies, and industrial organizations.
- Ensure processes are in place, documented and followed as they relate to permit applications, permissions to construct, replace or maintain Rogers infrastructure and network.
- Liaise with Rogers Regulatory, Municipal and Industrial Relations, Government Relations departments to ensure all standards, policies and agreements are interpreted, understood and adhered to by all stakeholders.
- Work with stakeholders to assist with resolution of Rogers Network Outages where intervention is required with Municipality or Utility.
- Maintain and share all pertinent contacts, processes, and documents related to Municipal and Utility Relations.
What you bring:
- College Diploma or Post-Secondary Education in a technical or engineering discipline preferred (Civil Engineering or Electronics/Electrical Engineering).
- Understand the municipal utility infrastructure including CATV, telecommunications, power, natural gas, water, sewer and roads.
- Knowledge of municipal and utility applications and processes would be a definite asset.
- Related experience in Municipal and Utility Relations (5-10 years)
- Effective experience with reading and interpreting contract, legal documents and standards.
- Demonstrated abilities to manage and execute projects.
- Strong understanding of process management
- Commitment to quality performance and teamwork across multiple disciplines
- Detail oriented with an aptitude for tracking progress across many disciplines
