The role of Manager, Emerging Services Research and Analysis will help the broader Emerging Services team develop a strategy and participate in the tactical implementation of programs across the portfolio.  

The Emerging Services group looks after opportunities to help drive the strategy across multiple lines of business. As part of our products and projects, we need a lead to help us find and interpret data to support our decisions. This can include data internally and externally – both to help shape roadmaps but also to help drive strategic decisions. Emerging Services is a new part of the organization and you will be a part of helping shape our mandate, our roadmap, and our execution.  The nature of our group is that this is not an operational role and you will be coming up with – and solving - new problems every day. 
Responsibilities

  • Help shape strategy of emerging services using data, spanning services across telco consumer and frontline
  • Collaborate with product owners and senior leadership to understand the strategy and goals and see what is the corresponding story when we look at data 
  • Gather data by working with existing analytics and reporting teams, creating an accurate and consistent story that helps shape the emerging services roadmap
  • Proactively identifies problems/opportunities early and advises team appropriately
  • Responsible for reviewing and creating data-driven models – comfortable with numbers and managing data sets to derive decisions
  • Assist in identifying potential organic growth opportunities and new business targets that are consistent with strategic direction of the group

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience
  • Experience with basic and advanced use of analytical tools (e.g. SQL, familiarity with databases, Tableau, BI, Domo, Omniture and/or equivalents) and experience applying them to find insights 
  • Solid understanding of the industry and competitive environment
  • Advanced research and media analysis skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and ability to interpret small and large sets of data
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment and contribute to multiple projects
  • Self-starter, demonstrated experience in working independently, creating and managing own responsibilities.
