Unified Communications, a division of Rogers Business, performs end to end engineering, operation, and management of the Unified Communications network and platform.  Our team is actively expanding, and we are in search of highly motivated individuals with a strong interest in the evolution of voice technology.

The Rogers for Business Unified Communications offering is rapidly growing with a comprehensive suite of next generation IP Voice Services to offer to the Canadian SME and Enterprise market segments. We are looking for a Network Administrator to join the Unified Communications Engineering and Development Team.


What you will be doing:

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and provide timely resolution
  • Support other functional teams on network-related assignments
  • Maintain inventory, network diagrams and configuration records, provide network address assignments
  • Plan and execute device software/hardware upgrade
  • Perform routine maintenance and network changes
  • Assist with deployment of new network projects
  • Assess network upgrade requirements, capacity management and security enhancements


What you will bring:

  • CCNA, JNCIA-Junos or equivalent certification is strongly desired
  • Ability to perform self-sustaining work with minimum supervision
  • Agility and responsiveness when faced with unforeseen issues
  • Strong and confident communication skills with both customers, peers, and managers 
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • A strong understanding of IP networking, with experience in deployment and operation of the following technologies:
    • Juniper and Cisco routers and switches
    • IP routing protocols
    • VLAN, L2VPN, L3VPN
    • Application firewalls, security appliances
    • Administration of network monitoring systems
    • Virtual computing knowledge
    • Familiar with network service provider work environment and requirements


Work experience in the following areas will be considered strong asset:

  • Session Initiation Protocol
  • Voice Over IP     
  • Linux systems
  • MPLS configuration
  • System automation, script programming
  • Virtualized network appliances
