Part-Time Casual General Operator

We’re looking for a Part-Time Casual General Operator to help us grow the Rogers Sports & Media brand and connect with our multicultural, diverse and wide audience and team partners through personalized communications and activities.

 

What you will do:

  • Assume various Control room and Studio positions including Director/Technical Director, Graphics Op, Audio Op, Camera Ops and MCO
  • Provide scheduled daily break coverage for all control room and studio positions.
  • Cover any crew shortages due to illness or late arrivals
  • Media Asset Management reports – checking video and still support for upcoming daily shows.   
  • Off-air production work as scheduled, including the pre-recording of daily Web capture spots. Trim & edit, overnight ShowStopper clip for upload to the Web for 1 AM.
  • MCO/Playback duties as required - build and edit playlists, monitor TSC feed.
  • Coordinate and perform Skype testing with TSC guests.
  • At end of evening shift, ensure the camera cables are coiled properly, pedestals are locked down, Vega pack batteries recharging, securing Studio for overnights including assuring lighting board shut down and Studio overhead lights turned on.
  • Turning over the control room to Master Control Operator.
  • Calibrate and color correct any product monitors for sale.
  • Knowledge and adherence to all applicable health and safety regulations as mandated by government and Rogers.
  • Other duties as required.
     

What you will bring...

  • Degree/Diploma in Broadcast Technology/Production or related field.
  • Proven experience in various studio and control room positions.
  • Working knowledge of broadcast and editing equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills to operate various broadcast control systems and peripherals.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast paced, deadline-driven team environment.
