What is the opportunity?
The Contract Negotiator will join a strong, dynamic and collaborative team of legal professionals. The position will support the Rogers for Business client group and report to Senior Counsel.  

What will you do?

  • Provide support to the Sales team by processing contract modification requests and / or participating in negotiations - this includes basic contract drafting, attending meetings with internal clients and business clients via conference or in-person;
  • review RFPs and other similar documents and provide recommendations to the Sales and National Proposal Center team, including a risk assessment, under the supervision of the Senior Counsel or Legal Counsel;
  • issue standard non-disclosure agreements and review non-standard non-disclosure agreements;
  • provide support to the Legal Counsel or the Senior Counsel with regard to complex cases, for example, drafting clauses, drafting memos, follow-ups, attending meetings;
  • Work in concert with other members of the Corporate Legal Services team in developing and delivering training to the Sales team on various topics of interest;
  • Work in concert with other members of the Corporate Legal Services team in developing and delivering training to the Sales team on various topics of interest; and
  • provide contract guidance and analysis to internal clients, including the sales and product teams.


What do you bring?

  • Fully bilingual in both official languages, with the ability to negotiate contracts in both French and English. Demonstrated contract negotiating skills;
  • Legal or Paralegal accreditation in Canada;
  • Superior analytical, negotiation, and communication skills (both written and oral);
  • Excellent judgement, time management skills, and practical thinking;
  • Ability to explain legal clauses in simple non-legal terms; 
  • A collaborative and team-oriented approach;
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Teams, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Experience acquired in the telecommunications industry would be an asset.
