Chatelaine, Quebec’s leading women’s media brand, is looking for a superstar Deputy Editor with significant digital experience to help lead their editorial team, across platforms. The ideal candidate has impeccable story sense; at least 5 years of leadership experience in publishing, preferably as a strategist and editor/general manager of a successful website for a consumer media brand; a proven record of executing creative, timely, world-class editorial content from start-to-finish across platforms; a strong familiarity with Chatelaine’s various content pillars, including Food, Health, Deco, Style and broader Life journalism; a strong understanding of social media, video and tablet production; proven expertise in analytics and audience-development; a desire to think beyond traditional publishing borders; and a positive, team-focused attitude.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, along with the Editor in Chief:
• Develop, support, socialize and maintain our editorial strategy and product roadmap including web, mobile, tablet, print, social, search, video, merchandise and emerging platforms, aligned to the brand’s mandate and business priorities
• Manage, support and direct the editorial team to produce world-class content that drives readership on multiple platforms in the most effective manner by facilitating collaboration, communication, processes and efficiencies between all editorial departments
• Operate as a resource for editorial and art teams in all matters relating to content and the workplace
• Manage editorial budgets responsibly and efficiently; implement and support a collaborative, streamlined budget-accountability process for all internal managers
• Analyze metrics and adapt overall digital content strategies accordingly
• Develop and execute digital-related projects that support audience growth and advertiser objectives, partnerships, promotional programs, consumer marketing and sales efforts
• Source and produce new products and opportunities
• Maximize opportunities with our internal and external partnerships
• Be a brand ambassador in all broadcast, print, digital platforms on behalf of the brand, according to our mandate and core values
• Further establish our position as a priority brand by continuing to deepen our understanding of the digital marketplace and proactively evolving our place within it
• Utilize all means and elements to strengthen and promote our voice and mandate
