Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • RF background
  • Responsible for the RF engineering design and system performance of wireless networks.  
  • Radio systems and new sites design and integration lead for GSM/UMTS/HSPA/LTE & NR
  • Applies propagation theory, cellular theory, RF engineering tools and antenna theory to select tower antenna placement, height, site configuration and power to maximize coverage, capacity and performance of the network.

Team work 

  • Assist in developing design guidelines, devise new approaches, conduct technical studies and improve standard engineering processes.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders from other engineering disciplines (ex. Planning, Core Networks, OSS, PMO, Operations and NOC, etc)
  • Ability to provide leadership to a team of radio engineering including progress monitoring, coaching, mentoring, and effective upward reporting.


  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Work effectively with equipment and service vendors and provide executive level professional presentations of engineering results and recommendations


  • Minimum 5 years experience in wireless telecom industry
  • University Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Telecommunications)
  • Professional Engineering designation
  • Radio wireless network design and RF engineering project lead
  • Strong understanding and experience working on GSM/UMTS/HSPA/ LTE
  • Good technical understanding of WCDMA and OFDMA air interface protocols
  • Excellent understanding of radio propagation principles including, but not limited to the following bands; 600MHz, 700MHz, 800MHz, 1900MHz, 2100 MHz, 2.6 GHz and 3.5GHz
  • Good theoretical understanding of Tx/Rx Radio and Antenna system design
  • Worked proficiently with Mentum PlanetEV RF Planning and geo-localization tools (or equivalent)
  • Understanding of RF radiation safety and Canada SC6 standard
  • Excellent communicator – fluent, Bilingual French and English, both written and verbal
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel (macros) et Access, SQL is asset 
  • Full driver's license
