Operations Support Systems (OSS) is dedicated to key applications that enable our technology teams to actively plan, deploy & operate our networks. 

The Manager of Automation is responsible for leading a technology team that provides software capabilities aiming at real-time management of wireless, wireline and video services. You will participate in the overall planning, execution, and success of a complex cross-functional team, hire candidates for technical positions, and develop technical staff.

 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Manage a team specialized in automation. The objective of this team is to implement automation processes using open source software development framework
  • Create and present status reports and evolution plans to executive management
  • Create a work environment where employees are engaged, accountable, challenged and recognized
  • Lead the day-to-day activities of the team through coaching, leadership, guidance, and performance management
  • Manage, negotiate, and coordinate with technology and business partners on prioritization and delivery of initiatives
  • Document development deliverables, schedules, and other necessary information and providing progress reports as required
  • Manage both capex and opex budgets with a focus on optimizing costs
  • Address capacity and lifecycle management on tools and platforms to ensure service availability. Manage partnerships with external vendors
  • Lead team in providing second level operational support when required

Your Strengths and Experience

You have strong written and verbal communications skills.  You are fluent in both French and English. As a creative problem solver, you stay focused on your end goals and dates while addressing every roadblock you encounter.  You have a demonstrated record of accomplishment of hiring and leading teams of software development professionals to design and deploy systems that meet the needs of our business partners.

 

Your technical skills include:

  • A degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent experience
  • Established leadership experience in a customer centric organization
  • Knowledge of robotic process automation (RPA) and tools used in the automation industry such as Jenkins, Github, Robot Framework and DevOps practices 
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Java, Python and work experience using the Agile methodology is an asset.  
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Java, Python.
  • Detailed knowledge of telecom network management systems and operations
