Who we’re looking for: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior System Analyst to join our team, focusing on the management and optimization of Element Management Systems (EMS). As a Senior System Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the reliability, performance, and evolution of EMS platforms used for managing network elements, devices, and services across our infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with EMS/Network Management Systems (NMS), a solid understanding of network operations, and a passion for delivering innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency. 

 

What you’ll do: 

  • Platform Management: Oversee the configuration, operation, and maintenance of Element Management Systems (EMS) that manage network elements across different layers (transport, access, core). Ensure platforms are optimized for high availability, scalability, and performance. 
  • System Monitoring & Troubleshooting:Monitor the EMS platform for issues, performance bottlenecks, and system health. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the EMS, collaborating with internal teams and vendors as needed. 
  • Integration & Automation: Manage and enhance the integration of EMS platforms with other operational systems such as Network Management Systems (NMS), Fault Management, Performance Management, and Service Management tools. Implement automation to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency. 
  • Platform Upgrades & Patches: Plan, coordinate, and execute EMS platform upgrades, patches, and updates. Ensure minimal downtime and risk to production systems during updates. 
  • Customization & Configuration: Configure and customize EMS applications to meet the specific needs of the organization, ensuring proper functionality for network element management and real-time monitoring. 
  • Incident & Problem Management: Support and manage incident resolution processes for EMS-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis. Participate in problem management to identify recurring issues and implement long-term fixes. 
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with other teams (e.g., Network Operations, Engineering, IT Infrastructure) to align EMS platforms with business needs. Provide documentation and training to internal stakeholders on EMS operations and best practices. 
  • Vendor Management: Interface with EMS software vendors and third-party service providers to ensure proper support, troubleshooting, and resolution of platform issues. Manage software licensing, service agreements, and contract renewals. 
  • Capacity Planning & Forecasting: Participate in capacity planning and scalability analysis for the EMS platform. Forecast future hardware and software requirements based on anticipated network growth. 
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure EMS platforms are compliant with industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with the security team to ensure platform security. 

 

What you bring: 

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 
  • 2+ years of experience in managing and supporting Element Management Systems (EMS) or similar network management platforms. 
  • Proven experience in the telecom or network operations industry, with a deep understanding of network elements and their management. 
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g., SNMP, NETCONF, REST APIs), and data modeling. 

 

Technical Skills

  • Experience with EMS platforms for Access, Transport or Core. 
  • Familiarity with network management technologies, protocols, and standards (e.g., SNMP, TL1, NetConf, YANG, etc.). 
  • Experience with IT service management (ITSM) tools and integration with network management systems. 
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, or similar) is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of database management (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server) and scripting for reporting and troubleshooting. 
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and virtualization platforms is a plus. 

 

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment. 
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing platform upgrades and implementations. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with network automation and orchestration frameworks.
