Citytv is  looking for a News professional to lead a dedicated team producing  Breakfast Television, an informative and entertaining morning news program that emphasizes creativity over tradition.


 Job Description


  • Reporting to the Executive Producer,  oversee all aspects of the daily program, including News content, interviews and integrated Sales segments
  • Provide leadership, direction and feedback  on all editorial and production elements
  • Working in conjunction with the Supervising Producer – City News,  implement and re-enforce the City News strategy
  • Innovate digital strategies that enhance viewer engagement and build audience
  • Work with the Sales team to produce integrated segments that engage viewers and generate revenue
  • Leverage integrated content with other Rogers properties
  • Collaborate with Operations and Production team to ensure highest quality production
  • Ensure that  Rogers News policies and guidelines are followed and CRTC compliance targets are achieved
  • Supervise the allocation of resources to maximize value and minimize costs
  • Oversee and provide leadership for special event coverage
  • Carry out administrative duties, including staff scheduling, training, performance reviews, budget preparation, health and safety initiatives and month-end reports
  • Work with community, government, sports and entertainment groups to forge strong working relationships




  • Minimum 5  years  experience  in a supervisory role or related experience leading teams in a Broadcast News environment
  • Strong editorial judgement and awareness of current events
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Coaching skills to develop employees
  • Strong knowledge of graphics, studio and ENG production
  • A post-secondary degree in Journalism and/or Television Production
