The Senior Learning Facilitator, Field Technician will be responsible for leading the Technical training in accordance with the Rogers Cable College standards onboarding technicians and conducting needs analysis using sound design principles to identify and define training needs.  Additional responsibilities include partnering with the Design team in designing training solutions that meet the needs of the Adult Learner, writing and editing content; testing solutions for readiness and usability. This includes:


  • Incorporating the use of best practice technology to support instruction as needed (i.e. creation of online instructional resources); adherence to the internal design process
  • Facilitating New Hire training and Train-the-Trainer sessions for training programs (travel may be required)
  • Proctoring testing to technicians
  • Analyzing test results, evaluations and reports to determine trends and respond with follow-up training/information where required.  Identifying and troubleshooting moderate to complex problems
  • Working with other instructional designers, sales & service trainers to ensure effective communication of issues, needs, problems and opportunities
  • Making recommendations for action on activities such as new instructional design technology and approaches
  • Working closely with fellow Instructional Designers, Technical Based Designers and internal/external partners to continuously improve design practices and methodologies
  • Maintaining and upgrading applicable job skills as identified and required




  • University, College and/or Adult Education Certification/Degree preferred
  • Experience as a Cable Technician, preferably working on the Rogers platform
  • Experience in training design including an in-depth knowledge of program development, i.e. conducting needs analysis, setting objectives, developing course material, unit/module preparation and evaluation procedures
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Experience writing for various learner levels and formats including web-based learning, instructor-led training, technical documentation, presentations and dialogue (for scripted role plays and simulations)
  • Experience authoring original content in collaboration with subject-matter experts or through research
  • Strong negotiating, meeting facilitation, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines and extra hours if needed on assignments
  • Travel will be required, including having your own vehicle
