Are you up for the challenge and the fun?  If so, consider the following opportunity!

Rogers Radio Ontario is searching for an individual with a love of powerful commercial creative and an inexhaustible desire to create it. The preferred location for this role is flexible, but ideally we're hoping that you can be based in either Ottawa or Kitchener.

Are any of these on your career wish list?

  • A place where I have the tools & resources to produce the best scripts of my career.
  • Working with a team committed to having FUN!   (Because hey, this is radio.)
  • Working alongside the best, most brilliant, creative minds in the country.

If you thrive under pressure, have an incredible work ethic and aspire to create game-changing radio every day, then polish your resume and tighten up your demo.  We want you to be an impact player on the biggest radio creative team in the country. Help us blow the lid off our stations!

Whether you’re an up-and-coming sensation or a seasoned pro, we’d like to hear from you.

What you will do…

  • As a Creative Writer reporting to the Regional Creative Director, you’ll bring a stellar work ethic and a focused tenacity to the group of Rogers Radio Eastern Creative Writers. You’ll create memorable, provocative and highly effective spots for a wide range of clients. You’ll carry your ideas all the way from conception to completion, working with account reps, the production team and the traffic department. You’ll enter materials in the Wide Orbit traffic system and make sure that the right stuff airs on the right stations at the right time.
  • Write great scripts and develop ad campaigns that deliver on client marketing goals – always to time, and sometimes in a hurry.
  • Accurately prepare and schedule creative instructions in the WideOrbit Traffic system
  • Liaise with Sales, Traffic, Production, Imaging and Promotion departments
  • Regularly meet with the Creative Manager to discuss progress and ways to improve efficiency within the Department
  • Other related duties as needed

What you will bring…

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Great copywriting skills and production savvy, as demonstrated by your radio demo
  • Must be highly detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of CRTC regulations and ASC standards
  • The ability to take your job seriously, but NOT take yourself seriously
  • A winning sense of humour (we’re a busy team, so you’ll need it)
  • Total disdain for cheap puns and tired ideas.

Here’s what you can expect in return:

  • A competitive salary and benefits that include access to our Employee Share Accumulation Program, Retirement Benefits and a variety of other perks including 50% off Rogers services and Blue Jays tickets
  • A manager who deeply cares about your development and long-term career at Rogers
  • A team that trusts and wants to win together
  • Working in concert with your manager, a hybrid split between in-office and at-home work
  • Smart and accomplished colleagues who are focused on both the “what” and the “how”

****Please include a link to your Radio creative demo and/or your portfolio in your cover letter!
