We’re looking for a Full-Time Shooter / Editor (Temporary) based out of OMNI’s Ottawa News Bureau to help us grow the Rogers Sports & Media brand and connect with our multicultural, diverse, and wide audience and team partners.

 

What you will do…

  • Support our OMNI teams across the country in gathering and creating news content for our broadcasts and digital platforms
  • Collaborate with local and remote editorial teams on stories of national interest
  • As part of OMNI’s Parliament Hill coverage, shoot cabinet and caucus scrums and interviews
  • Contribute to OMNI’s pool obligations as part of the Parliamentary Broadcast Pool group rotation
  • Operate ENG, EFP, and Mobile Device cameras and equipment with a high-level of technical skill and artistic competence
  • Record, ingest and edit content on Grass Valley’s Edius and Adobe Premier to the highest professional standards
  • Feed and/or distribute content to News Teams across RSM
  • Ensure that all equipment and materials are checked and in working order as to meet the needs of the assignment and liaise with management and engineering on all technical maintenance and repair related issues
  • Be accountable to our internal customers, providing concise, clear communication whilst producing local and national content, while in constant communication with our customers and support teams to provide first in class service
  • Continuously monitor integral systems, email, and all communications in partnership with our in-house content production teams
  • Maximize utilization of available resources for the ever-growing requirements of RSM’s market leading content offerings.

  • Excellent analytical and technical skills to operate various broadcast systems and peripherals
  • Strong production, editorial and storytelling skills
  • An ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems and find solutions
  • Must be proficient in English. French proficiency is an asset.
  • Ability to work daytime, evening and weekend shifts as required
  • A willingness and desire to learn, develop and grow
  • A care for people and the world around them
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence
  • Must be able to successfully pass background checks and security screenings.
