Rogers tv is looking for a Technical Support Specialist!

What you will do...

  • Support a server infrastructure powering several business-critical systems.
  • Assist with the provision of encoding and web streaming services used by Master Control teams in Ontario, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland.
  • Support Rogers tv’s community billboard and multi-zone information systems.
  • Train and support staff on Rtv’s CMS including the management of live streams to YouTube, Facebook, Akamai, and Rtv websites.

What you will bring...

  • Technical experience in supporting various types of stand-alone, converged and hyper-converged compute hardware.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server OS and Hyper-V, as well as Microsoft Active Active cluster and Microsoft Remote App.
  • Experience with networking: Cisco routers/switches/firewalls, subnetting, and network protocols.
  • Understanding of MS Active Directory, GPO, LDAP, and NTFS in medium-scale environments.
  • Knowledge of transport layer protocols such as SRT, RTMP, HLS, CMAF, RTSP, HTTP, WebRTC, TCP, and/or UDP.
  • Knowledge of OBS and Wirecast. Familiarity with Wowza Media Server would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of media codecs, formats, transports and containers, such as H.265/HEVC, H.264/AVC, OPUS, AAC, MP4, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal along with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend prudent technical solutions.
  • Motivated self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies listed above is a plus.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) would be considered an asset.
