There is an immediate opening for a Specialist in Equipment Engineering Transport, Core and EBU to be located in our Brampton Office (8200 Dixie Road) The successful candidate will be a results oriented individual with industry knowledge and technology experience who  would be accountable to develop Detailed Design Packages (DDPs) and Migration Order Documents ( MOD) from high level engineering , guidelines and projects from the various groups under Wireline Networks Organization  and Enterprise Business Unit (EBU) and Telecom groups.

The Equipment Engineering Specialist works very closely with the regional technical specialist assigned to the implementation of the project to ensure that all required site level details are provided for the successful completion of the projects. This position will focus on Transport, IP-Core and Enterprise Business Unit ( EBU)  projects at the National level.


The Equipment Engineering Specialists responsibilities include:

  • Planning and allocating space and power for current and future deployments of network equipment.
  • Designing and releasing Detail Design Packages (DDPs) to Network Implementation for physical deployment of equipment within Rogers sites, Third Party POPs and customer locations
  • Creation and preparation of Migration Order Documents (MODs)
  • Establishing telephony Trunk Groups, Augmenting Trunk Groups, Disconnections, Migration orders
  • Working with Switch technicians to update databases for Telco related project
  • Preparing Bill of Materials( BOMS)  and purchase of equipment on a per project basis
  • Assist in The coordination of timely delivery of materials to the project site.
  • Visiting Head End sites and completing site surveys for equipment installation
  • Tracking projects to ensure deliverables are on schedule and on budget.
  • Ensuring that all documentation and test plans are complete.  Keep current records (As Builds) on every project completed.
  • Providing project updates in various work flow tools and weekly Project management meetings
  • Generating purchase orders for contractors
  • Represent the department in cross-functional process improvement initiatives
  • Remain current with the latest company and industry technologies, policies and standards.
  • Beware and adhere to all applicable Health and Safety regulations, in accordance with legislation and related Company policy.



  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Telecommunications and Telecom experience
  • Experience in Head end Planning
  • Knowledge of all CATV inside plant design and construction practices.
  • Knowledge of telephony :  5ESS, DMS-250, C20/G6 platform
  • Experience in creating Migration Orders for telephony projects
  • Expert Knowledge on Transport Protocols
  • Understanding of all IP core and  Transport Technologies
  • Self-motivated, organized and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
