About IT at Rogers

Rogers IT is responsible for the systems that run our business, supporting retail sales, call centre, wireless, connected home, data and more!  IT is transforming to deliver modern technology and you can be part of this transformation.  We are delivering omni channel microservices in our hybrid cloud architecture, deploying advanced analytics, investing in ML Ops, and more.

 

Program Design

As part of the program, successful candidates will participate in 2-3 job rotations over 12 months depend on the workstream you are hired into. Rotational plans are designed to tap into your personal and professional development. You will also be paired with a mentor and coach!

 

Work Streams:

  • Assisted Channels: Our team aims to deliver a seamless sales and service experience to our frontline agents who assist our customers in the Care, Field and Retail settings. The primary focus will be on developing and supporting next-generation solutions delivered to our frontline staff. Possible rotational roles include: DevSecOps and Systems Analysis.
  • Business Strategy, Planning & Governance: This exciting area of Rogers IT function enables creation and implementation of IT strategies that drive new and evolutionary changes into our department. Possible rotational roles include: IT Strategy Analyst, Business planning, and PMO

 

  • Business Technology: We support small/medium businesses and corporate customers by delivering exciting new products leveraging innovative tech such as IOT, 5G and many other next generation services. Possible rotational roles include: Analysis, Integration, Development, and DevSecOps.
     
  • Public Cloud: The Public Cloud Platforms at Rogers are relatively new, exciting and innovative and support critical workloads across all Business Units. We run many different native services in AWS and Azure and partner with these providers on cutting edge technologies in AI, Serverless Computing and Big Data. Possible rotational roles include: Cloud Engineering, Cloud Support, Cloud Operations and Cloud Governance.
     
  • Shared Services and Consumer IT Development: End to end customer management, supported by a blend of next generation applications and technology interfacing with legacy network and BSS applications. You will be exposed to diverse technologies and leverage strong project delivery methodologies to build new functionality for the best-in-class customer experience.  There are two separate rotation tracks.
    • Consumer IT: possible rotational roles include configuring wireless product Ordering buy flows using next generation frameworks, telecom network Provisioning and activation of new services, and developing Credit Decisioning logic
    • Shared Services: possible roles include Product Development, DevSecOps, Software Development in Testing across various domains within the Core Service teams.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A recent grad (graduated between 2021 – 2021)  with a degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Business Technology Management or equivalent.
  • Programming Languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, Shell, SQL)
  • Frameworks (Springboot, Gradle, Angular)
  • Microsoft Azure (run builds & deployments)
  • J2EE Application Servers (WebLogic, Tomcat)
  • Proven ability to work in a team focused environment
  • A mindset of creativity, innovation, and energetic drive to succeed
  • Great to have: experience with tools such as InteliJ/Eclipse, Postman, Github desktop, and Swagger editor
