Are you up for the challenge and the fun?  If so, consider the following opportunity! is looking for an Assistant Managing Editor of Special Projects & Content Strategy to help coordinate and execute comprehensive editorial plans for major sports events, news, and social topics. You will work with some of the best sports writers and content creators in the country to help deliver the important stories that Canadian sports fans want to consume.

What you will do…   


  • Help shape the strategic direction of editorial content on

  • Create and manage content packages around special events and social topics in the sports world.

  • Oversee the development, execution, and analysis of content streams such as newsletters.

  • Handle short form feature stories and marquee columns such as 32 Thoughts.

  • Work with the staff writers to brainstorm, assign and edit written content for the site.

  • Foster strong relationships with the different content production teams across Sportsnet.

  • Build and maintain a robust network of freelance writers to supplement coverage on major sports news and features.


What you will bring…


  • A passion for storytelling and willingness to explore new and innovative ways to deliver those compelling stories.

  • A curiosity about the latest digital and media trends and how they shape our content strategy moving forward.

  • Strong editorial judgement. A background in developing content plans, assigning stories/features, and editing copy is considered a HUGE asset.

  • In-depth knowledge of sports and the important conversations happening in the world of sports, particularly with the athletes, teams, leagues, and issues that matter most to Canadians.

  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills as you will be tasked with leading multiple content executions on a variety of timelines. 

  • A positive, team-first attitude and eagerness to work in a group environment.
