At Rogers, we connect Canadians to a world of possibilities and the memorable moments that matter most in their lives. Every day we wake up with one purpose in mind. To bring loved ones together from across the globe. To connect people to each other and the world around them. To help an entrepreneur realize her dream. A sports fan celebrate a special moment.

Because we believe connections unite us, possibilities fuels us, and moments define us.

We are seeking a young journalist to join the Sportsnet team in the role of Associate Editor whose primary accountability will be to write and edit news and other editorial content for Sportsnet.ca.

A Sportsnet Associate Editor should be someone plugged into the digital conversation in the sports world on all social platforms—Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.—and following the important conversations in the digital space. The candidate should have a solid grasp of what kinds of stories make an impact on those platforms, and of how to best promote those stories for maximum readership. We want someone who can write—be they Tweets, breaking news or direct headlines on the website that catch a reader's eye—and edit other writers’ copy as needed to help it better make a digital impact. We want someone who's going to find the little tidbits around trending stories that turn into viral content.

Most of all we're looking for an Associate Editor who knows how to find stories, write stories, incorporate social media, images, video and other elements into those stories, and get those stories out, in a timely fashion, in the places where everyone will see it with a sell that makes them want to click on it.
