Working on assigned shifts, the Security Guard’s principal responsibilities are to act as a deterrent to crime and undesired activity and to help maintain a visibly safe and welcoming environment. Campus Security will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents such as theft or property damage, issue access control passes or keys, provide assistance and support to guests and employees, as well as respond to emergencies in a quick and efficient manner.


In this role, it is essential that the individual have an unwavering commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction.

Successful candidates for these roles must be physically fit and able to stand for long periods of time, and other regular Rogers duties as required. Candidates must be able to work all shifts including holidays, weekends, nights, and evenings.


Please note - this is a 12 month contract opportunity. 


What you'll be doing:

  • Have a passion for polite and professional customer service
  • Confidence and experience to make accurate decisions in emergency situations
  • Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time which includes climbing stairs
  • Exceptional deportment which includes a dedication to wearing a full uniform when on duty
  • Experience with accurate and chronological completion of reports
  • Ensuring Rogers policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and handle difficult situations
  • Exposure to Life & Safety systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative and agile team
  • Must be dependable and flexible in order to respond to the dynamic needs of the business.

What you'll have:

  • Excellent English spoken and written communication skills
  • A valid license under the Private Security and Investigative Services Acts
  • Valid First Aid, CPR, and Defibrillator training
  • Good understanding of the Criminal Code / TPA
  • Essential computer skills
  • Basic use of radio and security equipment skills
  • Understanding of Ccure and IndigoVision is an asset
  • Experience in large venues and crowd management is an asset




As a condition of hire, all new employees will be required to provide proof of vaccinations against COVID 19. Any request for an exception under Human Rights legislation must be supported by evidence to be considered by Rogers on a case by case basis.
