DevOps Engineer


Who We Are:

We are Rogers Virtual Assitant & Chat team, we build industry-leading support products and services for Rogers customers. We are a unified organization with a common mission and revolutionary culture.

We are looking for a talented leader with a strong technical and management background, reporting to the Director of Support Channel & Innovation at the One Mount Pleasant Campus. As a Developer, you will lead your team to engineer, scale, and optimize our Virtual Assistant & Chat platform. You manage all of the solution and agile team/project interdependencies, understanding impacts and delivery risks.

What You Will Do:

  • Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
  • Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
  • Testing and examining code written by others and analysing results
  • Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
  • Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
  • Planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions.

What You Will Bring:

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with a significant amount of time spent working with Docker and deploying /maintaining production environments.
  • 2+ years in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer
  • Experience with modern SRE/DevOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, centralized logging etc).
  • Experience in a Microsoft Azure environment
  • Strong working knowledge of CI/CD and tools such as Jenkins or Octopus or Azure DevOps
  • Strong Experience with Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless computing, Kubernetes, Microservices.
  • Strong knowledge of automation/configuration management using either Azure Resource Manager, Salt, Puppet, Chef, or an equivalent
  • Passionate technologist with a desire to expand their knowledge and skill as well as share and mentor team members.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems as a developer or system administrator
  • Working knowledge of web-based application architectures
