Reporting into the Senior Manager of Planning, the Digital Planning Manager will be a key contributor to the efforts made to provide timely and accurate reporting and analysis for the Digital Planning team. The successful candidate will leverage strong finance skills and business acumen to play an instrumental role in interfacing with Digital directors and VPs.

The individual will be responsible for oversight of Digital annual and monthly Opex budget planning, tracking and reporting results, as well as understanding the budgetary challenges and opportunities in meeting the budget/targets

Role Responsibilities:

·       Develop and produce monthly reporting package for Digital VPs and Directors that identifies performance in key areas, such as capitalized labour, third party expenditure and Software Maintenance

·       Planning and oversight of monthly and quarterly department Forecast and annual Budget including Headcount, 3rd party costs, capitalization and HW/SW Maint.

·       Support the tower with its month-end OPEX activities such as:

o   Ensure expenses are received against PO’s for certain spend items

o   Prepare Journal Entries and Accruals - submit to Finance for processing if necessary

·       Keep visibility of upcoming initiatives and trends to maintain high level understanding of their OPEX impacts. Track of CA OPEX drag and reflect timely on OPEX forecasts.

·       Establish OPEX Metrics and create easy to use/track templates/methods to maintain a bottom-up view of the OPEX footprint.

·       Work closely with Finance team and be their single point of contact for OPEX budgets and financials

·       Recommend and deliver process improvements to realize efficiencies in day-to-day activities, process and communication. Contribute to Digital-wide improvements pertaining to financial processes, templates, performance measurements, training, etc.

·       Conduct various analysis, including maintaining key metrics and performance benchmarks.

·       Tracking of monthly Financial Results and Forecast Variance analysis. Resolve any questions or concerns Directors may have related to their OPEX result and address within the next monthly forecast cycle.

·       Proactively identify Issues, Risks, and Opportunities for Cost Efficiencies

·       Work closely with Directors in identifying and discussing OPEX optimization and savings strategies and timelines. Forecast savings and track proactively to ensure savings targets are met.

·       Executive-level Financial Presentation

·       Support the Digital team with ad-hoc budgetary analysis and reports

·       Support the Digital Planning Director in providing data, analysis, reporting to be used for Digital-wide (CDO level) presentations, planned or ad-hoc.

·       Work closely with other Planning primes, in identifying Org-wide budgeting and forecasting challenge and in establishing more effective and efficient ways in our financial planning activities.

 

 

Qualifications

·       Undergraduate degree with financial accreditation (CMA/CGA/CA/CPA)

·       7 years of relevant, progressive experience in a financial analytics role

·       Highly motivated and performance driven individual

·       High degree of analytical and data analysis capabilities

·       Excellent communication skills and exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to deal with different audiences and resolve issues

·       Driven, customer focused and results oriented individual who is organized and has a strong attention to detail; able to produce high quality work to meet tight timelines

·       Proven ability to work independently in an ambiguous, fast paced & demanding environment

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Excel and PowerPoint, with a demonstrable track record of translating data into executive insights/presentations

·       Strong management and organizational skills, with experience working cross functionally in a complex matrix environment

·       Love working with and manipulating data

·       Previous experience in Finance as asset

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet multiple deadlines per each monthly cycle.

·       Self-motivated and capability to deliver under pressure
