We are currently looking for Director,  Digital Technology- Connected Home to join our Rogers Digital team.

 

What you will be doing….


The Director Digital Technology, Connected Home will be leading the overarching digital technology strategy for the Rogers Connected Home portfolio within our Digital ecosystem. The director will play a key role in overseeing the design, development and delivery of the Digital Connected Home commerce platform for our consumer channels for both Fido and Rogers. They will lead the team through collaboration, communication, and decision-making between the technology teams, the Connected Home Digital product team, Platform and Services group and the various business teams. They will support the overall Digital technology strategy to help the team transform to cloud native practices while supporting the existing technology stack and transition to a newer technology stack.
 
What you will do…

 

  • Support the Connected Home business strategy and coordinate design, development and delivery of Digital capabilities to meet the business needs
  • Encourage best practices for software development with continuous improvement and continuous development mindset
  • Lead the team through transformational technical techniques to cloud native and the latest technology standards 
  • Drive collaboration and partnerships across the organization to create unified strategies and plans on what is needed and how it will be delivered
  • Embrace and practice digital thought leadership, Agile methodology, and change management processes
  • Conduct strategic planning to prepare technology roadmaps and proactively identify changes in the technology landscape
  • Develop talent, build and drive a high performing digital culture 
  • Extraordinary team player with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where quality, innovation, speed of decision making and execution are critical to organizational success.

 

What you will bring…

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in understanding all aspects of software engineering, including coding, architecture, and network engineering
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams 
  • 5+ years’ experience of demonstrated ownership of software engineering roadmap 
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Knowledge of cloud native technology, Spring Boot, Play/AKKA, experience with BSS/OSS systems in the Telecom industry 
  • Connected Home and overall telecom experience is preferred
  • Highly motivated individual with a naturally inquisitive nature and strong leadership
  • Strong understanding of digital ecosystems and customer experience design
  • Thrives in an environment of constant change and innovation
  • Ability to identify critical issues and simplify complex issues
