The Director, Data Governance & Reporting, will own the data governance and enterprise reporting domain for Rogers Bank (the “Bank”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rogers Communications Inc. The role is ideal for someone interested in joining an iconic Canadian brand with an entrepreneurial environment. Director Data Governance & Reporting is responsible for establishing and implementing data governance and enterprise reporting capabilities in collaboration with key internal stakeholders and external stakeholders across the Rogers Bank ecosystem.

How You’ll Succeed:

  • Oversee Rogers Bank’s data management, governance, and reporting for the MasterCard credit card business
  • Build a 3-year data governance and enterprise reporting roadmap for Rogers Bank
  • Establish policies, standards, frameworks around: data sharing, data access and permissions, data classification, data retention, establish KPIs/metrics and dashboards
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of Rogers Bank’s daily, weekly, and monthly Reports with accuracy to key Shareholders, including Finance, Audit, Marketing, Risk, Collection and Operations.
  • Lead in preparing progress reports and presentations, updating databases, maintaining proper records and documentation, managing schedules, and performing daily inspections
  • Accountable for the overall data architecture of Rogers Bank data sources, including the integration and overall data governance of all sources of data available (Rogers Bank, RCI, credit bureau, other external data) into one integrated data source.
  • Oversight for the Rogers Bank data ecosystem, data platform, BI/reporting infrastructure, data architecture
  • Evaluate and define roadmap pertaining to data governance capabilities: data catalogue, metadata management, data quality and data lineage
  • Rogers Bank data governance and reporting main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage key relationships across the Rogers Bank ecosystem
  • Integration with operation data management teams to ensure all regulatory compliance, privacy, CASL, information security, etc., requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Operationalize data governance capabilities at Rogers Bank

What you'll bring:

  • 3+ years experience in data governance and reporting leadership capacity with 5-7+ years of experience in data and analytics related domain
  • Post-secondary education, bachelor or masters degree, certifications in Data Management, Data Governance, Data Analytics/Big Data or Business Intelligence
  • Relevant industry experience in either banking, payment cards, retail, technology or consumer-facing industries
  • Experience in defining and implementing a data governance roadmap, operationalizing data governance capabilities and establishing Reporting framework for the corporation
  • Driven to provide insight and guidance on how the organization can better utilize data, identify the different opportunities that exist, and be proactive in providing the executive team with this insight
  • Experience in Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms like Power BI, Tableau, Google Analytics
  • Certification or expertise in Data Governance tools like Collibra, Informatica
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end data lifecycle; Knowledge of data regulations, privacy/consent, CASL, PII/PCI, industry-specific regulations and policies
  • Strong understanding/work knowledge of modern data platforms, data lake, data engineering, BI, data science/machine learning will be helpful
  • Strong knowledge
  • Data analytics professional with excellent process orientation, planning, reporting and project management experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships across all levels of the organization
