We are currently seeking a Director of Platform Engineering to join the Rogers Digital Team. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of platform engineers and elevate the Digital engineering practise 
  • Build a repository of learning and best practices for Digital
  • Look for opportunities to disseminate this knowledge to improve our patterns of practice.
  • Coach teams through the technical journey along with modern development practices
  • Identify opportunities for technical and people management training for our developers to help them evolve their skills
  • Participate and be a thought leader in meetings with business leads to help them make decisions and achieve short and long-term goals.
  • Be a technical sounding board and consultant for the technical decisions that the application development teams make in building and enhancing their applications.
  • Own strategy for technology changes, roll-outs
  • Work with Enterprise Architecture and translate architecture into technical strategy
  • Establish KPIs for Digital applications and help build pipelines that measure them
  • Design and develop automation solutions for application build and deployment
  • When called upon, be able to troubleshoot production issues 


The Ideal Candidate Will Have Greater-than-Average Knowledge Of:

  • Java, Angular (at least one)
  • Public cloud infrastructure and solution design concepts 
  • Branching and release concepts using modern SCM tools like Git/Github
  • CI/CD tooling
  • REST API design
  • Monitoring, Alerting, Performance Optimization
  • Experience in working with distributed teams
  • Flexible and adaptive, team player
  • Excellent analytical communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize work and well organized
  • Ability to take ownership of deliverables
