Sportsnet is looking for a passionate content creator to join its Original Content and Marketing Team in the role of Host and Associate Producer, Branded & Original Content. This unique position will play a meaningful role in developing, executing, and presenting sports content on all Sportsnet and affiliated platforms. This role will work closely with industry creators, influencers, internal departments and external stakeholders in developing and launching content that best entertains and engages Canadian sports fans, ignites sports fandom across Sportsnet’s core properties, while positioning the network as the trusted and credible Canadian source for sports. 

Whether it is via Sportsnet’s world-class live presentations, its branded content executions or the network’s cross-platform integrations, we connect Canadians to a world of possibilities and memorable sporting moments that define us as fans. What you will do:

  • Develop content ideas and experiences that help bolster Sportsnet’s different platforms
  • Work closely with the Branded & Original Content team on incoming RFPs and outgoing sales opportunities.
  • Continuously “push the envelope” in the creation of content ideas and executions that can be monetized  
  • Ability to step in and host different flagship shows such as “Plays of The Month” & “Misplays of The Month”
  • Host and interview athletes at various “Car Wash” and sporting events
  • Work directly with editors and producers on features, footage gathering, packaging, and finalizing shows.
  • Entertain and excite the viewer with strong research, interview and writing abilities.
  • Work directly with the Original Content team and sales co-ordinators on client-related branded content.
  • Contribute to creative brainstorms for new original and branded content opportunities.

  • A passion and belief in the power of analytics.
  • An excellent ability to build relationships and engage with the Sportsnet team and external partners/stakeholders.
  • Aptitude to develop a big idea but know how that translates to lots of ‘big little ideas’ to address a brand’s challenges in a way that is entertaining, relevant and compelling. 
  • Ability to integrate existing as well as emerging digital trends and tools to enhance content.
  • An embrace for change while generating fresh and creative perspectives with an ability to multi-task.
  • Acting in a truthful manner while valuing direct and honest communication with all levels of the organization.
  • An ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, multi-faceted environment with minimal supervision and keen attention to detail.
  • Live television or stage experience is a benefit, offering a strong, effective on-air presence.
  • Control room and field production experience an asset.
  • Scheduling flexibility to work nights/weekends/overtime as well as some travel, when necessary.
