NATURE AND SCOPE:

Jays Shop is looking for passionate and strong leaders to join our team for the 2021 season. Our team-driven culture and stimulating atmosphere has established Jays Shop as the leading destination for Toronto Blue Jays official team merchandise.

 

We are seeking Key Holders who have a desire to lead a winning team. You have the unique opportunity to outfit diverse fans as they unite in the ever-growing Blue Jays community. Creating unforgettable fan moments, building lasting relationships, and facilitating the ultimate fan experience are the primary functions of all Jays Shop team members.

Please note this is a contract position.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support retail management team to lead the Sales Associates to achieve the goals of the business.
  • Ensure that sales associates are engaging all fans according to WE CARE values in order to create a positive and welcoming experience and ultimately, drive sales.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the general operation of the store is carried out in the most professional, organized and profitable manner possible.
  • Open and close the store as required and complete end of day paperwork, including deposits.
  • Responsible for processing sales, balancing the cash register and organizing sales receipts and reports.
  • Responsible for having complete understanding of all systems, products and services available.
  • Maintain sufficient levels of inventory in the store and re-stock as needed, to maximize sales potential.
  • Address and see to any issues pertaining to the retail location, fans or staff in a confident approach. Carry out each situation and solution in a discreet and professional manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining store standards for visual merchandising.
  • Assist with the training of new staff and further coaching and development of roster staff.
  • Understand, follow, and exhibit all Jays Shop and Toronto Blue Jays policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties required.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous retail and/or customer service experience required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills complemented by a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • A commitment to service excellence and fan satisfaction.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet required deadlines.
  • Must be able and interested in supporting a team environment and adhering to the Toronto Blue Jays Mission and Policies.
  • Must be available to work all Toronto Blue Jays home games and other Rogers Centre concerts and events.
  • Ensuring fans are adhering to COVID-19 health and safety policies and procedures 
  • Be knowledgeable on the stadium cleaning protocols, assisting with sanitizing high touch areas and bringing larger cleanliness concerns to the attention of the facilities team 
  • Ensure application of WE CARE services principles in all interactions with fans
  • Be a safety ambassador by following and enforcing all public health guidelines for the health and safety all Rogers Centre employees and fans
  • Other duties as assigned

 

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays is required.
     

The Toronto Blue Jays will continue to follow guidelines from municipal, provincial, and federal public health authorities and will implement the most up to date measures for the safety of our employees and fans. These measures may be adjusted, but we anticipate that they will include physical distancing, face coverings, health screenings, and COVID-19-specific health and safety training.
