Rogers Radio is looking for a talented & driven individual to help shape the content & music strategy of the most exciting CHR radio station in Canada. This is a role that requires someone who is an expert in music programing in the Top 40 genre and ideally has experience across a big city market. A positive, proactive and amazing individual who loves and understands the CHR audience. For the right candidate there will also be the opportunity to become the National Music Curator (CHR/ Hot AC), where you’ll partner on music policy, oversee scheduling, coordinate national music programming initiatives & provide guidance to our music schedulers for our CHR/Hot AC brands. This individual will be reporting to the Content Director in Toronto.

What you will do…

  • Assisting the Content Director with all aspects of the day-to-day management and coordination of the Programming Department with a focus on Music Programming. You will also be involved in Coaching On-air talent, working around Promotions and Production
  • Curating and scheduling daily music programming logs ensuring sequencing excellence
  • Building strong relationships with record company representatives; be actively engaged in the music culture is essential
  • Analysing music research data and translating the information into a strong music strategy
  • Be a creative resource and assist in the development of the station's programming plans and business strategies
  • Day to day scheduling of on-air talent and managing vacation
  • Responsible for continuous liaison with engineering, IT and production for the maintenance of the station's music scheduling system and its integration with other computer programs
  • Work in conjunction with Promotion and Sales Department with respect to promotions, contests and advertising
  • Responsible for compliance with CRTC music content regulations
  • Assist in creating digital content & supporting our multi-platform content ambitions
  • In depth Music Master knowledge as they apply to a CHR station
  • Knowledge of Wide Orbit an Asset
  • On-air / fill in ability would be desirable but not essential

What you will bring…

  • Team player with a terrific attitude 
  • Proven experience in a music programming role ideally within the top 40/CHR environment 
  • Experience with working with talent – helping to coach and guide them to greater performance
  • Must currently be or aspire to become a Content Director
  • Excellent knowledge of the current pop music scene
  • Strong background in analysing music research data and translating into a strong music strategy
  • Music Master knowledge as they apply to a CHR station
  • Knowledge Wide Orbit an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented, as well as ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently, yet a strong team player
