Today, our core analytics data sits in a Postgres-based warehouse. We are on a journey to unify this into an Adastra-managed Databricks environment and to safely prepare for future integration of Rogers Telecom data under strict data privacy and regulatory requirements. Your work will directly enhance the Banks analytical capabilities by improving data infrastructure, reliability, and data flows into key systems.
This is a deeply technical, execution-focused role. You will spend most of your time working with SQL, Python, Databricks, and our databases to build and run scalable pipelines, keep the platform healthy, and support decision systems that power millions of customer transactions and risk decisions. You will also partner closely with Technology, Credit Risk, Marketing, Fraud, Collections and other teams to understand data needs and bring new analytics into production.
Experience with Credit card data is a strong asset – for example, working with applications, transactions, payments , delinquency/charge-off, or fraud data.

- Experience working in a bank/credit card industry
- Experience with TSYS
- Own the Bank’s analytics data platform – today on Postgres, with a proposed migration path to Databricks – used for Credit Risk, Marketing, Fraud, and Collections.
- Design and maintain curated analytics datasets (data models) that give a consistent view of customers, accounts, and risk events, with an eye to safely integrating Rogers Telecom data in the future.
- Build and improve data pipelines in SQL and Python to load, transform, and validate data into these curated datasets.
- Database reliability and operations
- Configure, maintain, and tune database servers (e.g., Postgres) and Databricks jobs/clusters to support reliable analytics and decision systems.Implement monitoring, alerting, and capacity management to catch issues early and keep performance strong.
- Manage backup, recovery, and data integrity practices, including overseeing restoration from corrupted or failed databases when required.
- Participate in incident response for high-priority issues affecting analytics data, helping restore service and drive root-cause fixes.
- Datamart and decision systems
- Lead the development and evolution of Datamart used for reporting, controls, and execution of risk and collections strategies for Bank and enabling Telco/Bank integration.
- Maintain and enhance analytics and decision systems (e.g., TRIAD, ADM-ACE), ensuring data feeds, rules, and batch processes run as expected.
- Support execution of decision rule changes in automation systems and advise on data design and implementation impacts.
- Run SQL-based analysis to validate implementations, support model and strategy reviews, and answer ad hoc business questions.
- Automation, governance, and collaboration
- Review current data and database processes, recommend best practices, and implement automation to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
- Document data flows, data models, and controls to meet regulatory, audit, and internal governance expectations around data privacy and sharing.
- When required, act as a key liaison with Credit Risk, Marketing, Fraud, Collections, Product, Finance, Technology, and external partners, ensuring alignment on requirements and clear hand-offs.
- Contribute to laying the data and platform foundations for future AI and advanced analytics initiatives in the digital space.
What You Will Bring:
- Hybrid database + data engineering experience
- 5+ years in database engineering / data engineering / reliability roles, with experience running production databases and building analytics data pipelines.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., Postgres) and a modern data platform (e.g., Databricks or other Spark-based systems).

- Strong focus on data accuracy, validation, and controls, especially in regulated environments such as banking or telecom.
- Operational ownership and incident response
- Comfort owning critical data systems, including responding to and troubleshooting production issues that affect reporting and decision systems.
- Experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and root-cause analysis for databases and data pipelines.
- Collaboration and domain curiosity
- Ability to translate needs into clear data and platform requirements.
- Strong communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and to document what you build.
