Manager, Digital Operational Performance

Rogers is seeking a Manager, Digital Operational Performance, reporting into the Senior Manager, Digital Performance. In this role, you will support the Operational Performance tracking and story of the Digital BU.
What you will be doing:
  • Develop and manage insightful operational KPIs (eg: scrum velocity, number of stories, development cycle time etc.) to track the performance of Digital BU
  • Lead and facilitate discussions with stakeholders to set and identify meaningful targets for KPIs (eg: team utilization %, average backlog age etc.)
  • Work with Manager, Business Performance to produce weekly and monthly business reviews including:
    • Lead Digital Operational Performance deliverables for weekly fact packs and monthly business reviews
    • Gather and report snippets with key insights to develop action items
    • Assess risk to delivery and performance, escalate appropriate issues in advance and provide recommendations to mitigate
  • Be a thought leader on Agile/Scrum processes and collaborate with the Digital BU community plus Consumer/Enterprise businesses to craft a roadmap for Operational Performance reporting and structure
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions to gather alignment, standardization and ensure coordinated decision making
What you bring:
  • Operational experience or knowledge of:
    • Key software development methodologies (eg: Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, Kanban etc.) with a focus on estimating/sizing, forecasting and reporting
    • Integrated environments (Front-end, Backend and Middleware), applications, tracking incidents, resolution and time to resolution, severity, downtime and business impact
  • Proven track record of taking a “client-first” approach, while setting and achieving aggressive objectives
  • Ability to inspire and influence across organizations to gain alignment and support on recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to derive business-impacting insights from large datasets and to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders and executives
  • Creative approaches that are solution/outcome-oriented, constantly looking for ways to do things smarter, better and more efficiently
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills; Knack for zooming into the detail but adept at avoiding the trap of getting stuck in them
  • Natural or trained ability to grasp both business and technical aspects of the role
What you have:
  • 2+ years in a Systems, Agile/Scrum, Data & Analytics-focused role supporting senior executives
  • Strong understanding of a complex digital data and ecosystem
  • Ability to collate large and frequently changing data sets to interpret & uncover patterns, customer preferences and other business information
  • Experience with techniques and measurement tools to continuously build valuable insights and business recommendations
  • Experience in creating engaging presentations for senior executives
  • Effective management of cross-functional programs/portfolios
  • Effective programming/query skills and in-depth knowledge of common data manipulation and visualization tools (e.g. DOMO, Tableau, SAS VA, etc.) an additional asset
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite such as JIRA and Confluence is a plus
  • University degree in an analytical discipline such as Computer Science/Engineering/Math/B.A/B.Sc
