We're looking for a Manager to join our Analytics and Insights team supporting Sportsnet Business Unit within Rogers Sports & Media. Our team supports core brand and product teams with data and insights requests/projects ranging from regular performance reporting and brand tracking across all channels to custom data analyses and qualitative deep dives. As we grow in scope and scale our team has digital optimization, experimentation, and personalisation projects on the plan for 2023 and beyond.

 

This role will be responsible for facilitating comprehensive performance reporting across Sportsnet linear programming and Sportsnet’s Direct to Consumer (“DTC”) digital media business Sportsnet NOW and managing research projects intended to shed light on brand specific audience reception/behaviours.

 

What you will do:

 

Programming Performance Insights (70%):

  • Own and manage performance reporting (summaries and deep dives) intended for all org levels, from multiple data sources (linear and digital).
  • Work with Sportsnet and SN Now brand and product teams to deliver meaningful insights to help them drive content, product, pricing/packaging and sales decisions.
  • Work with the Sportsnet and SN Now Marketing team to drive audience-based insights across multiple communications channels and lines of businesses.
  • Refine reporting infrastructure from automated dashboards to custom reports aimed at providing self serve data capabilities for stakeholders.

 

Research Insights (30%):

  • Manage Brand Tracking & Custom Research Projects in collaboration with Sportsnet cross functional teams – Product, Marketing, Sales and Brand teams.
  • Collaborate with brand and content teams to gain understanding of business performance pain points to drive audience and performance insights based decision making.
  • Lead periodic performance update presentations intended to provide insights to the brand and content teams on linear performance and key brand metrics.
  • Build compelling stories into reports that help uncover data driven insights to help shape business decisions around Sportsnet’s key media properties such as NHL, Blue Jays & Raptors.

 

What you will bring:

  • Advanced skills in SQL based languages, Python, Excel, and PowerPoint, preferably within a digital subscription and/or media business
  • Experience with platforms like Salesforce.com, Zuora, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Localytics, Big Data cloud environments and other similar data, analytics, and CRM platforms/technologies.
  • Hands-on data science, modelling and analytics experience implementing and supporting data platforms to support business operations, sales & marketing tactics, and strategic decisions.
  • Experience with various facets of Online research including questionnaire design, sampling techniques and project management.
  • Passion for and deep understanding of sports fans motivations, preferences, and behaviours.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills including sourcing, structuring, manipulating, automating, and Analyzing data of various types.
  • Experience with Domo, Power BI, or other data visualisation tools.
  • Superior communication skills with storytelling, data visualization and reporting.
  • Confidence and experience in presenting to Senior Leadership and large groups of people involving extensive Q&A.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment while being capable of working/contributing independently.
  • Experience working with Linear Media tools such as Numeris or Nielsen based platforms considered an asset.
