NATURE & SCOPE:

Reporting to the Director, Ticket Sales & Service, the Manager, New Sales & Business Development is responsible for driving ticketing subscription sales for the Toronto Blue Jays, including acquiring new Season Ticket Memberships and the new acquisition and retention of Game Packs and Group Sales. The successful candidate will lead and cultivate a high performance sales culture and create organized, yearlong, innovative sales campaigns while stimulating organizational growth and development.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead New Sales & Business Development department, including staffing, scheduling and day to day management of team
  • Recruit and hire sales staff as required, while training, coaching, setting goals and evaluating performance for all sales representatives
  • Prospect, identify and secure renewal and new ticketing subscription sales, with special emphasis on new Season Ticket Memberships, Game Packs and Group Sales in order to achieve customer service and sales goals/objectives
  • Actively pursue new and renewal subscription sales opportunities through consistent sales/prospecting techniques, while providing consistent coaching to sales staff
  • Assist in creating business strategies and products that help achieve ticketing targets and that best serve fans and subscribers
  • Implement and maintain plan for department’s use of Salesforce CRM; producing regular, accurate sales reports and updates on sales campaigns
  • Work collaboratively with various departments to implement new ticketing technologies, such as prospecting models, retention models and lead scoring models
  • Provide consistent and superior customer service in all interactions with existing and prospective customers
  • Work closely with Ticket Sales & Service team to ensure clear communication, sharing of information and cross functional collaboration within departments
  • Deliver game day ticket revenue reconciliation reports to finance and senior leadership teams
  • Develop and utilize sophisticated training programs and performance management systems for the department
  • Assist with game day operations and perform other duties are required

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree or College diploma sports management/business/marketing or other related program is preferred
  • Five to seven (5-7) years of sales and account management including direct sales presentations and telephone sales, preferably with a professional sports franchise
  • 3+ years of experience managing a sales team
  • Excellent relationship building and people skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external clients at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional telephone manner
  • A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction
  • Confident, persistent and results-oriented
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Interested in supporting a team environment and adhering to the department’s objectives, goals and mandates
  • Legally able to work in Canada
