Sportsnet is looking for a creative and engaging leader and sports fan to join our team as a Manager, Digital Marketing (Performance Marketing). The successful candidate will bring their Marketing expertise to help us connect with Canadian sports fans and grow our extensive digital product suite, including all of Rogers Sports & Media’s Direct-to-Consumer subscription services (SN NOW), as well as Sportsnet’s websites and apps for all digital and IP based platforms. This key role will be responsible for the marketing support of these service and products and will lead the vision for how Marketing can best support the rapid, radical growth targets we have for these products to deliver to engage more Canadian sports fans to Sportsnet.


What you will do...

  • Own and drive roadmap and strategy for all Performance Marketing plans and initiatives for our impressive digital offerings, most importantly Sportsnet NOW
  • Serve as internal product expert and the voice-of-the-customer for all products and experiences including websites, apps, OTT/DTC products and any future digital product offerings
  • Lead the performance campaign development lifecycle for our market leading sports DTC offerings – brainstorming improvement, gather data and insights, writing Briefs for Creative and Media agencies, evaluating creative, evaluating media plans, reporting on key performance metrics, and more
  • Use product analytics and a commitment to data that will drive deeper engagement in our products, increase retentions, and converting sports fans to subscribers
  • Work with DTC team on holistic churn reduction and retention strategies
  • Be a leader and champion for our Sports DTC business, connecting all elements of the various business teams and clients who support these services (e.g., creative, sales, communications, editorial, product, social media, IT, legal, etc.)
  • Work cross functionally with a wide variety of teams within Sportsnet and RSM to create new efficiencies and push for subscriber growth


What you will bring...

  • Sports fandom and passion for digital media and marketing
  • Expertise in multiple areas of the online advertising ecosystem and deep understanding of platforms and vendors, and how they fit into the digital advertising ecosystem and fresh thinking on how they may contribute to our future plans for subscriber growth
  • Practical experience executing campaigns and analyzing results within Facebook Ad Manager, Google Ads, Google Analytics and usage of social analytic tools (i.e. hootsuite, SocialBakers, Sprinklr etc)
  • Passion and belief in the power of analytics to drive better decision making and to assist our team being where our audiences want us to be
  • A desire to support the long-term growth of team members through challenging them to do more
  • A breadth and depth of knowledge of multiple digital marketing ad products, with experience launching digital campaigns on many digital channels and managing them in real-time to improve performance
  • Thought Leadership on digital trends; while focused on sports, we expect she/he to to possess a breadth of interests and to maintain the ability to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, processes, approaches, and competitor offerings
  • Excellence in stakeholder management, agency relations and internal communication to drive collaboration and success
  • A strong desire to engage Canadian sports fans with the teams and sports that they love
  • Proven experience in a similar performance marketing role with a focus on DTC
