JOB DESCRIPTION:

As Finance Manager with the Connected Home Finance team, you will provide analytical support for the Major Accounts & Field Sales Group, focusing on its Bulk Sales operations. You will assist with pricing bulk services proposals and prepare business cases for bulk deals and capital expenditures, among other duties. These will include:

 

  • Regularly work with the Major Accounts counterparts to create customized pricing scenarios for Bulk TV proposals for MDU customers.
  • Evaluate Bulk TV and Bulk Internet CAPEX investment and pricing requests from the Business for sustainability through financial modeling for NPV, IRR, Margin results, risks, etc.
  • Communicate with Senior Management on challenging pricing and investment scenarios.
  • Participate in management discussions by proposing or assessing new strategies with the use of data mining and financial analysis.
  • P&L Reporting. Work with other Finance counterparts to assemble Revenue, COS, and OPEX financials and create a monthly P&L report for the Major Accounts Group.
  • Major Accounts CAPEX management, including securing, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting within $12M CAPEX portfolio.
  • Assist in the development of annual sales targets for the Major Accounts group.
  • Other related ad-hoc duties as required.

 

Additionally, you will provide analytical and business case support to the entire consumer segment within the cable business unit, which will involve:

 

  • Applying business acumen with strong understanding of finance and accounting principles to evaluate risk and return for pricing, sales/marketing, and investment decisions, as well as strategic initiatives.
  • Developing and advocating the finance recommendation on decisions, while delicately balancing the goals and constraints of cross-functional departments.
  • Conducting post implementation reviews of programs in partnership with program owners to provide objective feedback and considerations for future enhancement.
  • Providing significant input towards communicating campaign/program P&L impacts to other Finance teams.
  • Contributing to the continuous development and refinement of the corporate cost structure (activity based costing) as the basis for building Life Time Value Models, including standardizing and improving economic models for the evaluation of campaigns, programs, and products.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Professional accounting designation and/or MBA with specialization in Finance preferred
  • 5 to 6 years of progressive experience in Finance, preferably in telecommunications.
  • Familiarity with Hyperion Enterprise (specifically Essbase).
  • Knowledge of accounting systems (specifically Oracle).
  • Solid understanding of finance fundamentals, activity-based costing, financial modeling, as well as other analysis techniques.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and competing priorities under short timelines.
  • Comfort and confidence in dealing with senior leadership.
  • Detailed-oriented, takes initiative, and an excellent team player.
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude, and determined to learn and sharpen skills on an ongoing basis.
