 We are looking for a strong leader to join the Digital Media team within Rogers as a Manager of Web Development.  In this role, you will be responsible for delivering features and software projects for our News and Entertainment websites.  You will manage a team of software developers and work closely with our Digital Media Product team to deliver their vision.     

 

 What you will be doing:
•    Directly manage, hire, and oversee developers, and growing and mentoring these individuals in their career path. 
•    Provide support to the teams developing Digital Media products 
•    Assess, estimate, and architect products and features from ideation to delivery. Keeping a keen eye on reusability, stability, and revenue opportunities 
•    Working with our technology stack, Wordpress, PHP, React.js and Ruby, as well as evaluating new technology options to deliver our products

 
What you will bring: 
•    Proficient with the Agile framework and how teams should be working within it. 
•    Strong understanding of SDLC, software development life cycle, from concept to deployment and monitoring. 
•    Experience in multiple full stack domains including devops, backend, and frontend services. 
•    Knowledge of system design principles with understanding of vertical and horizontal scalability and architectural trade-off decisions. 
•    Proven ability to balance and reconcile the needs of product and business with the long-term vision of technology and software 
•    Track record of managing and mentoring technical teams and progressing the career trajectory of employees. 
•    Capability of breaking down large development projects and prioritizing work against aggressive timelines 
•    Experience working with distributed teams across multiple business verticals 
•    Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills with ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical professionals.
