Today’s Parent, Canada’s leading media brand for parenting, is seeking a multi-tasking candidate to join its dynamic team as Deputy Editor.


We are looking for a digitally minded superstar editor, with equal commitment to storytelling and digital metrics. The ideal candidate comfortable working in print and digital, and can think boldly about new platforms and brand extensions. Reporting to the editor-in-chief, the Deputy Editor should be able to juggle a variety of projects, while also driving a culture of innovation. The ideal candidate is a highly organized problem solver who can manage our print and digital production schedules as well as deliverables for large cross-platform editorial projects from conception to launch.


In addition, the Deputy Editor will be responsible for the following:


  • Manage digital projects, including newsletters, redesigns and special projects
  • Own print/digital production process
  • Use digital analytics and keyword tools to plan monthly content
  • Oversee site builds to ensure they are search-optimized and contribute to long-term search projects
  • With EIC, spearhead large-scale content and maintenance projects outside daily digital and print cycles, working with stakeholders around the company
  • Liaise with audience development team to optimize boosted posts to increase click-through and recirculation 
  • Recruit and manage interns
  • Write and edit content for all platforms
  • Manage a small team of editors




  • 5+ of digital editorial experience
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Experience with digital analytics and SEO tools
  • Experience with CMS
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • People management experience preferred
