The Rogers Media team is looking for All-Star candidates to support our new state of the art National Media Operations Center (NMOC). You will play a critical role in the innovative overhaul of how we produce and deliver compelling content on Canada’s top TV networks.


Our Media Specialists are a critical team supporting the new NMOC and our National broadcast operations across the country.


What you’ll be doing:


  • Build and maintain our state of the art National broadcast network
  • Monitor the overall health of our new National broadcast network, related platforms and applications
  • Tier I & Tier II support for all Incident and Event Management:
    •  identify the problem, triage, isolate, and resolve [minor], or escalate [major] issues
  • Support the development and administration of our ticketing platform, and its user management
  • Support & Troubleshoot Live on-air issues related to our IP transport network
  • Actively work with Media Architects to establish a continuous improvement cycle – with the intent of scoping and implementing resolutions to defects and inefficiencies
  • Compliance Monitoring - Ensure adherence to CRTC regulations. – including but not limited to:  Audio Loudness violations, Described Video, Closed Captioning  (overlapping text, missing, garbled)


What you have:


  • Knowledge of industry ticketing systems (JIRA, VIMBIZ, ServiceNow, Zendesk)
  • Experience in broadcast video/audio codecs considered a strong asset
  • Excellent communication skills (written & oral)
  • Proven analytical & problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on resolution and quality
  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritize under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Calm, confident and keen to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Undergraduate degree is required
  • 5-8 years related work experience
  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Troubleshoots, monitors and maintains all aspects of network LAN/WAN including having knowledge in switching and routing
  • Experience with network/server monitoring tools like: Nagios, Zabbix, Solarwinds
  • Experience managing IT environments, windows servers, linux, active directory, domain controllers, MS SQL server
  • Experience in virtualization (VMware)
  • Experience in broadcast video/audio codecs (MPEG2, MPEG4, HEVC, J2K) and video over IP standards (SMPTE 2022 and 2110) would be an asset.
  • This role is based on a scheduled rotational shifts (24/7 environment)
