Rogers Media is seeking a Photographer to work with our custom content, branded content and editorial teams. Working alongside our various art directors, editors and project managers, and reporting to the Group Photography Director, this person will ensure that we are delivering photography that satisfies our various custom and branded content clients needs, while continuing to support our editorial teams by creating inspiring images for print, digital and social.


What you will be doing

  • Working with our other in-house photographer, scheduling, preparing, and executing shoots, both in studio and on location
  • Assembling and setting up a range of technical tools and equipment such as cameras, lenses, camera stands, lighting equipment, and seamless backdrop
  • Working with our various clients/art directors to produce desired image results (connecting via email or in person with editors/art directors for pre-props and brainstorms as required)
  • Photographing, editing, retouching, and color correcting a variety of images for multiple platforms using Adobe Photoshop
  • Organizing, renaming, and resizing image files properly into a variety of internal and cloud-based servers
  • Providing low-res jpgs to  teams after the shoot in a timely manner
  • Retouching high-res images and deliving them on deadline
  • Providing regular updates on status of projects and revising and providing solutions to solve any creative challenges that come up
  • Maintaining in-house studio
  • Keeping track of necessary studio supplies and replenishing as needed
  • Managing equipment repairs as needed
  • Backing up files and computers as needed


What you have

  • 3+ years of experience in photography and assisting ideally in both commercial and editorial situations
  • Mandatory shooting experience in the following categories: food; beauty (on and off figure); decor (in situ and off figure); fashion (on and off figure)product still lifes; portraits
  • Experience with all the stages of producing a photo shoot from start to finish.
  • High level of skill composing a shot, understanding framing, color, and light
  • Proficiency in Capture, Lightroom, Photoshop, and file organization
  • A keen eye for food/beverage photography as well as beauty, lifestyle, fashion and product photography
  • The ability to style and shoot independently as well as work with our in-house chef and freelance stylists
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team
  • A strong attention to detail and a creative eye that can produce high quality content
  • A positive demeanor and the ability to adapt and work with different personality types
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and organize
  • Openness to feedback,  changes, and the ability to turn creative around in a timely manner
  • A friendly disposition and a sense of fun on the job
  • Digital tech experience (camera knowledge, lighting strobes, lighting interiors, etc.) is a big plus
