We’re looking for a deeply passionate Sports fan to join the Sportsnet Audio team as a part-time Producer.


The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to produce daily and nightly shows and podcasts on Sportsnet 590 the FAN, in addition to other producing and editing duties across Sportsnet’s live and on-demand audio programming slate. The Producer will partner with management and talent to ensure that the show retains high sports acumen, entertainment and production values, stays relevant and topical, and is focused on the target audience. The Producer will combine strong sports knowledge with expertise in engaging fans across digital platforms, particularly on emerging audio channels. This role will report to the Sr. Producer, Sportsnet 590 the FAN and is based out of Toronto, ON.


The position will include working nights and weekends, approximately 25-30 hours per week.


What you will do…

  • Support the ideation and execution of content for the show and be the leader of the preparation process
  • Monitor and edit audio content from internal and external sources
  • Organize all scripts, sponsorship elements and daily information required by the talent
  • Coordinate with editors to execute the show’s podcasting and digital distribution strategy
  • Book the biggest and best names in Toronto and North American sports
  • Work with the editor to manage the show’s digital and social content, ensuring it’s of relevance and interest to the audience
  • Brainstorm with the promotions team compelling concepts that satisfy the interests of the customer, the audience and our brand
  • Be a liaison between Promo/Sales/Programming and on-air talent
  • Work with the Operator to ensure the show encompasses all recorded audio elements required
  • Work with Engineering to ensure the studio environment and technical aspects are functioning correctly
