In this role you'll be part of the news-and-entertainment digital product team, responsible for defining the future of news across digital platforms – including web, apps and social. You'll help expand, scale and manage our products to deliver exceptional experiences that will help RSM meet its growth and revenue targets.

You’ll be the voice of the customer and obsess over user experience while at the same time focus on growing three key metrics: audience growth, engagement and loyalty. 

By zeroing in on customer segments and their needs across the entire journey, you’ll determine the next set of problems to solve and bringing empathy, transparency and rigour to your work with accomplished engineers, designers, researchers, marketers, data scientists and senior leaders across the RSM organization. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to define user-first solutions for validated needs and utilize user feedback, strategy and data analysis to help drive decisions that balance our short-term needs with long-term goals.

What you will do…

  • Own, define and iterate on the digital news product roadmap, working alongside key stakeholders on top priorities, timelines, delivery status and launch plans.

  • Collaborate with the UX, business, marketing, customer support, finance and IT development teams to define products, remove roadblocks and evaluate trade-off in order to continuously deliver functionality that make measurable impact.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Ad Operations teams to identify and support opportunities to drive revenue through digital content, products and digital distribution models.
  • Obsess over understanding and validating user needs and building intuitive user experiences 
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop hypothesis and perform product validation exercises such as user research, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, MVP etc. 
  • Participate in agile ceremonies with Project Managers, including: Daily Stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, product demos and release plans. 
  • Research and analyze target audiences, competitors and performance; track industry trends, emerging platforms and share digital best practices
  • Launch next-gen features for customers and internal teams across the entire customer journey. 
  • Manage platform integrations with internal product teams and external partners including Apple, Google, Facebook and Amazon.

What you will bring…

  • Digital product experience, with a focus on data-based decisions.
  • Collaborative leadership skills and experiences to deliver high-growth products as a cross-functional team.
  • Exceptional problem solving and data analysis skills. Ability to decompose complex or undefined problems into fundamental components and use first-principles to drive solutions. 
  • Strong agile and scrum methodologies, to ensure we deliver on time and on budget
  • Working knowledge of industry technologies and trends including e-commerce, subscriber management, news-industry trends; digital user experience; and product management, strategy, techniques and frameworks that help deliver the right products to the right users at the right time. 
  • Communication skills and professional drive to move fast and get things done in a complex, matrix organization
  • Excellent written communication skills and fanatical attention to detail that is tailored to each user segment and internal stakeholder.
