Are you up for the challenge and the fun?  If so, consider the following opportunity!

In this role, you’ll lead a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, researchers, and data scientists, in the execution of our next generation audio strategy. Leveraging our long pedigree of creating communities for sports fans, you will deliver beautiful, thoughtful user experiences in the social audio space. We believe that real-time engagement and the listening experience for sports can be taken to another level and we’re looking for a product visionary to help us get there.
What you will do…

  • Own and define the product strategy and roadmap for the Sportsnet social audio and real-time engagement digital experiences.
  • In concert with business, content strategy, programing, and talent partners, develop new fan communities and engagement models, remove roadblocks, and deliver product that makes a measurable impact.
  • Maintain a validated product backlog balancing user need, business value and technical complexity to facilitate trade-offs, build consensus and focus the team.
  • Obsess over understanding and validating user needs and building intuitive user experiences that help increase core user and business metrics.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop hypotheses and perform product validation exercises such as user research, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, MVP definition, etc.
  • Continuously gain working knowledge of cutting-edge technologies and how to utilize them to deliver benefits to our customers and the overall business.
  • Work closely with project managers and developers to participate in agile ceremonies: daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, product demos and release planning.

Who you are…

  • You believe that the best digital products solve real user problems
  • You believe in the craft of digital product development and the balance between outlandish vision and attention to detail
  • You have digital product delivery and agile development experience with a bias to mobile or emerging technologies.
  • You are collaborative and empathetic by nature and have demonstrated experience in getting things done in a complex, matrix organization.
  • You place a heavy weight on the value of learning – both what you can teach others and what you can learn from them
  • You are a curious, entrepreneurial, ambitious & innovative leader with a solid understanding of media and technology
  • You are deeply passionate about digital trends, emerging technologies and innovative user experiences

Here’s what you can expect in return…

  • A competitive salary and benefits that include access to our Employee Share Accumulation Program, Retirement Benefits and a variety of other perks including 50% off Rogers services and Blue Jays tickets
  • A manager who deeply cares about your development and long-term career
  • A team rooted in trust, honesty and empathy that wants to win together
  • Smart and accomplished colleagues who are focused on both the “what” and the “how”
  • Flexibility to work from home even after the pandemic ends
  • Your choice of hardware and software (iPhone or Android/Mac or PC etc.)
