Programming Business Analyst (10 Month Contract)

Rogers Media is looking for a highly motivated individual to provide support to the Television Rights Unit.  The Programming Business Analyst will work directly with the Programming department, other key stakeholders to analyze, capture, and monitor content rights and usage across a set of stations.  If you have a great eye for detail and can analyze large amounts of data into meaningful reports, we are looking for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, populate and maintain program content rights in an inventory management database.
  • Summarize legal contracts and maintain necessary contractual/research documentation.
  • Produce and distribute inventory forecasting and optimization reporting.
  • Liaise with Program Scheduling and Finance to maintain contractual parameters for all programming content.
  • Translate large amounts of data into meaningful reports including financial data, contract rights and inventory while maintaining integrity of data.
  • Diligently monitor and analyze multiple program schedules for the utilization of content and identify variances against forecasts.
  • Validate airings of transmitted programming.
  • Coordinate period-end financial processes and validations.
  • Assist with legal documents, and drafting routine letters and supplementary correspondence.
  • The ability to create, maintain and support complex reporting and analytic solutions using a suite of products as Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Provide administrative support to the Television Rights Unit, the Programming department and other units of the business.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.



  • 2 years of Television Rights and/or financial analysis reporting experience.
  • Exposure to legal affairs with an emphasis on television and/or non-linear content.
  • Familiar with working in IBMS systems.  S4M knowledge an asset.
  • Experience in delivering quality solutions under pressure of tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to assess contractual terms, to evaluate and communicate impact and recommend alternatives.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and work under own initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability in a variety suite of products as Excel, PowerPoint, reporting and data management tools.
  • Consistently demonstrate professionalism and discretion with sensitivity in handling confidential information.
