We are currently looking for Sr. Front End Developer to join our Rogers Digital team.

Rogers is currently seeking a talented and experienced person for the role of Senior Development Manager on the Digital Wireless Commerce team reporting into the Director, Wireless Commerce Delivery.  The successful candidate will be part of a fast-paced development team responsible for the delivery of an exceptional online customer experience. You must be able to dive deep into the details on business, operations and engineering.

 

What you will be doing.. 

As the Senior Front End Developer you will work within a diverse, tight-knit development and product team to create new experiences for our digital platform.

You will be responsible for architecting and writing code for problems big and small. We strongly value deep technical skills, willingness to learn, and desire to work in an intensive, highly productive environment


What you will do… 

  • Create responsive web applications using Angular
  • Collaborate with other developers on your team, as well as the product, engineering, SRE, UX, business partners and other teams across the organization to help develop the front end application solutions
  • Work with a team that practices agile product and software development
  • Write high quality code with proper logging and monitoring
  • Ensure high code quality through automated unit and functional testing
  • Create and review code design and architecture to ensure it can meet our requirements
  • Perform peer reviews and refactor regularly
  • Collaborate with multiple teams (product and tech) across the organization
  • Design and recommend solutions to challenging problems
  • Prepare documentation as needed

 

What you will bring:

  • Deep knowledge of Angular 8+ practices and commonly used modules
  • Proven experience with front end development (Angular)
  • Proven experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript
  • Experience developing large, complex software projects
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of UX and visual design concepts to provide leadership perspective on front and backend technologies and their overall impact on the creative process
  • Ability to construct fast, reliable and accessible user experiences
  • Experience working with DevOps pipelines (Git, , Jenkins, Checkmarx, Maven, NexusIQ), continuous integration/delivery, automated testing (unit, functional, performance)
  • Knowledge of webpack and bundling concepts
  • Knowledge of AWS web services
  • Experience in integrating with RESTful APIs
  • Experience in working with a design systems
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience mentoring team members, overseeing code quality and driving best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills. Be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical people
  • Strong collaboration skills. Be able to reach out and work with other teams in order to produce great results
