The Carrier Roaming team is seeking a highly motivated individual with business acumen to collect, track, analyse and report on the carrier roaming KPI in order to understand how we achieve success.  Reporting directly to the VP, Carrier Roaming and Long Distance, you will have a strong bias for data analysis and a keen curiosity to understand how market and product changes affect the business.  


What you will be doing:

  • Prime for data analytics supporting Carrier Roaming including but not limited to revenue, cost, roaming traffic management, budget/forecast preparation and evaluation, business case development and post implementation reviews.
  • Interpret the data to assess impacts to Rogers and KPI.
  • Examine trends and perform analysis of key information in order to provide strategic recommendations.
  • Develop databases and analytical or predictive models to identify opportunities and determine the appropriate strategies and tactics to drive financial results.
  • Build presentations for senior executive audiences to provide updates and explain KPI results.
  • Manage business relationships with assigned mobile network operators to drive strategy.
  • Create reports and presentations that will help the team create quarterly plans and make decisions on contract renewals.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date account of the competitive landscape and respond quickly to opportunities.    
  • Prepare assessments of global trends in wireless roaming wholesale.
  • Work closely with other teams to monitor results, trends, key initiatives, and provide recommendations to improve future revenue, cost and market share performance.
  • Coach, support and cross-train with peers.
  • Liaise with IT, network and the roaming clearinghouse to understand best sources of data
  • Lead special projects / ad hoc assignments as required.


    What you bring:

  • An undergraduate degree in business with a concentration in Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in data analytics and data analytics software.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint and experience handling SQL and VBA is required. 
  • Proven ability to construct databases, datasets, ensure data quality and perform quantitative statistical analysis.
  • A highly motivated and detail oriented individual who is a self-starter with the ability to quickly understand new concepts.
  • A keen desire and ability to sift through large amounts of data and simplify into meaningful reports.
  • An excellent team player and great ability to work effectively and autonomously.
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be able to communicate complex information to decision makers and key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner (written/verbal/presentation).  
  • Proven ability to exercise a high degree of business judgment and sound reasoning.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines, and perform well in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
