Reporting to the Finance Manager - Decision Support, the Senior Financial Analyst will assist with analysis, modeling and decision making support for the consumer sales organization while interacting with various cross functional teams including Sales, Corporate Real Estate, Controller's Group, Legal and Human Resources.


This role is key to supporting the strategic vision of the business by providing financial analysis for all consumer sales channel decisions including, but not limited to, store closures, openings, renovations, and channel compensation. The candidate will be involved in complex business cases and analysis that will support the business with strategic decisions within the sales and retail environment. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing analysis with recommendations on store openings, closures, or ownership changes
  • Business case support for consumer sales capital projects and investments
  • Post implementation reviews on all projects, business cases and decisions
  • Data gathering and analysis on store profitability with recommendations
  • Coordinating execution within internal finance teams (channel opex, credit & collections, A/P, and controllers) and external stakeholders (legal, comp delivery)
  • Financial planning & analysis of retail store leases that are corporately operated, including forecasting, budgeting, and month end accountabilities
  • Support management in development of analyses and recommendations to support the business
  • Ad hoc as required


  • An accounting designation (CPA) completed or in progress, MBA an asset
  • Previous experience working in an accounting firm is preferred (2-3 years experience)
  • Advanced Excel skills are a requirement ( i.e. building financial models and Macros/VBA experience level)
  • Candidate is expected to be a strong self-starter that is keen to learn about Rogers and the retail portfolio
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ease with communicating with various levels in the organization
  • Highly advanced analytical skills and detailed oriented
  • Knowledge of Essbase is an asset
  • Strong time management, with the ability to perform multiple tasks and objectives and prioritize effectively to meet timelines
  • Strong team skills, but ability to work independently
  • Able to adapt and work effectively within a variety of situations, adjusting easily to a change in job demands
  • Telecom, SQL and PowerPoint experience are assets
