Senior Financial Analyst

This Senior Financial Analyst, Treasury Accounting will support the Financial Reporting & Accounting Team within the Controller’s Group, focusing on the Treasury Accounting portfolio. Reporting to the Manager, Treasury Accounting, the successful candidate will leverage strong accounting and communication skills to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of hedge accounting, treasury reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, and for effective and efficient processes and internal controls around their preparation and approval. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting relationships with other internal groups and assisting with various ad hoc special projects.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely accounting, reporting and analysis
  • Prepare and post hedge accounting journal entries by the monthly close deadlines
  • Completing account reconciliations by developing an in-depth understanding of the related accounting and the ability to effectively document and explain the account balances and reconciling items
  • Conducting detailed and in-depth analysis as required, including balance sheet variance analysis
  • Ensure relevant internal controls and SOX controls are effective and operational
  • Developing and enhancing/automating processes, reporting and controls
  • Assist with external and internal audit requests
  • Perform all requested audit tasks required for quarter and year-end external audits to enable timely and efficient audit sign-off
  • Act as SME on cross-functional projects and system implementations/updates
  • Prepare monthly Treasury debt and derivative schedules
  • Prepare monthly finance cost and foreign exchange reasonability analysis
  • Prepare annual and mid-year finance cost budgets and forecasts
  • Support all other internal groups on Treasury related items
  • Develop an environment of continuous process and control improvement

 

What you have:

  • An accounting designation (CPA) with a minimum of 3 years experience in an accounting environment in either public practice or industry
  • Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Office and ERP experience such as Oracle
  • Strong interpersonal skills are needed to communicate with peers and directors
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience and knowledge of hedge accounting
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise written reports
  • Driven, customer focused and result oriented individual
  • Ability to independently manage and organize multiple work activities to meet or exceed established deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to drive change to enhance processes and improve deliverables
