Senior Financial Analyst

This is a role within Cost Optimization - Financial Planning & Analysis, supporting the Credit Operations & Enablement departments. Key responsibilities include providing financial guidance on strategic initiatives and evaluating their effectiveness through detailed financial analysis.

 

What you'll do:
•  Assist with financial planning activities, including monthly forecasts and annual budgets.
•  Support month‑end and quarter‑end close processes for wireless, wireline, and media business units, including variance analysis and preparation of management presentations.
•  Collaborate with Controllers, Finance, and Business Operations teams to manage financial targets, including headcount, accounts receivable, days sales outstanding (DSO), and bad debt.
•  Lead cross‑functional working teams and provide financial direction to Operations in gathering relevant data; participate in regular stakeholder meetings to validate results and present findings to senior management.
•  Analyze key financial drivers and provide insights using rate/volume analysis.
•  Conduct return‑on‑investment (ROI) evaluations as required.
•  Develop and present financial models and business cases for senior management review and approval.
•  Support business teams with procurement requests.
•  Investigate and resolve outstanding purchase orders (POs) and prepare PO reconciliations for quarterly sign‑off.
•  Ensure compliance with SOX controls for financial reporting and strict adherence to policy requirements.
•  Perform ad hoc financial analyses and prepare business presentations as required.
•  Act as a subject‑matter expert and provide guidance and informal mentorship to junior analysts, as needed.

 

What you'll bring:
•  Strong team player with excellent organizational and communication skills.
•  Proven problem‑solving abilities with demonstrated expertise in operational and financial analysis, and strong attention to detail.
•  Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment while managing tight deadlines.
•  Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
•  Experience with SAS, Oracle, and Essbase financial systems is considered an asset.
•  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or Computer Science required.
•  Professional financial designation (CPA, CFA) or an MBA, with 3–5 years of progressive experience, is an asset.
•  Experience in credit risk, collections call‑center support, or related operational environments is an advantage.
