This Senior Financial Analyst, Support Group Controller position will support the Financial Reporting & Accounting Team within the Controller’s Group, focusing on the Corporate Support Groups portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Support Group Controller, the successful candidate will leverage strong technical accounting and communication skills to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of OPEX accounting, and for effective and efficient processes and internal controls.
What you'll be doing:
- Ensure complete, accurate and timely OPEX accounting, reporting and analysis
- Prepare and post journal entries by the monthly close deadlines
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations for Corporate balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Provide GL support as needed to Finance Operations and Business teams, assist with data analysis and investigation
- Ensure all internal controls and SOX controls are effective and operational
- Assist with external and internal audit requests
- Assist in operationalizing new initiatives and special projects, including systems and M&A integration
- Act as a liaison with service providers to support business areas and oversee financial integration
- Develop an environment of continuous process and control improvement
What you bring:
- An accounting designation (CPA) with a minimum of 3 years experience in an accounting environment in either public practice or industry
- Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Office and ERP experience such as Oracle
- Strong interpersonal skills are needed to communicate with peers and directors
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Prior knowledge of IFRS an asset
- Well organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise written reports
- Driven, customer focused and result oriented individual
- Ability to independently manage and organize multiple work activities in order to meet or exceed established deadlines and priorities
- Ability to drive change to enhance processes and improve deliverables
