Reporting to the VP, Finance, the successful candidate will oversee the execution of the business decision support function in the Financial and Emerging Services business unit, which includes Rogers Bank and emerging services for Rogers Communications Inc (“RCI”). The candidate must effectively deploy resources to support purposeful business decisions, grounded in thorough financial assessment.  Additionally, the candidate must have strong communication skills to articulate financial models to senior leadership and play a guiding role in steering and influencing decisions.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee the execution of business case development and decision support in support of Rogers Bank and Emerging Services senior leadership teams
  • Perform in-depth analysis (including building financial models), provide sound financial advice and recommendations to business partners, measure performance of key initiatives after launch, and drive action if needed
  • Continuous partnering with cross-functional business primes to critically evaluate assumptions, risk, and opportunities within business cases
  • Oversee the ongoing maintenance and refinement of business case models; ensuring updated data inputs to reflect the latest business and market dynamics
  • Leverage analytics to produce insights and drive business performance, work with the Data Analytics team to create meaningful KPIs, and identify trends and patterns to generate meaningful insights
  • Develop and maintain a system of tracking business case initiatives, post-implementation-reviews, and ad-hoc projects
  • Collaboratively prepare and deliver presentations for senior leadership teams
  • Ensure communication and alignment of business case decisions with latest financial forecasts and outlooks
  • Prepare analysis and material for ad hoc projects and presentations (e.g., annual strategy check)
  • Maintain an understanding of industry trends, key business / cost drivers, accounting policies etc.
  • Support in proactively identifying growth and efficiency opportunities
  • Ad-hoc as required
     

What you will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • 5-10 years experience in relevant Finance roles; Banking and/or credit card experience preferred; telecom background an asset
  • Proven ability to delivery impactful presentations to senior leadership teams
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills
  • Proven record of taking initiative and taking ownership of outcomes
  • An accounting designation completed
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office applications a requirement
  • Demonstrated time management skills, including the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a complex fast-paced environment.
