The Toronto Blue Jays are looking for a Senior Manager, People Operations!

 

Overview 

In a newly created role in our growing People Operations team, the Senior Manager of People Operations will be instrumental in designing and operating key services to meet the people needs of the Toronto Blue Jays in both Canada and the US. Reporting to the VP of People Operations, you’ll lead a team with ownership of key People services and processes including Compensation and Benefits Analysis, Employee Relations and Escalations, Policy Compliance, and Data & Analytics Capabilities. 

 

You’ll also play a leadership role in assessing, enhancing, and managing key People Systems and infrastructure, including our HR Information System (HRIS) and Application Tracking System (ATS).

RESPONSIBILITIES 

•    Lead, inspire and help build a team within People Operations responsible for managing core People services, processes, and systems for the Toronto Blue Jays 
•    Establish and oversee well-managed processes for resolving employee inquiries, requests, escalations, and situational needs (Immigration, Payroll, Benefits, Accommodations, Leaves, etc) 
•    Help define and deliver on an agenda to assess and enhance our people system capabilities, including HRIS, ATS, and Workforce Planning and Scheduling 
•    Lead Compensation and Benefits benchmarking and analysis programs to inform and influence our Total Rewards strategy 
•    Support Payroll and Benefit Operations as needed, establishing strong relationships with key enterprise partners   
•    Establish and operate a Data and Analytics capability for People Operations
•    Assess and establish risk management practices and controls around core People processes
•    Collaborate with multiple departments across the organization to learn the needs of the business and build trusted relationships to help jointly define needs and opportunities 
•    Build relationships and play a primary liaison role between the Toronto Blue Jays and the broader Rogers organization for relevant People processes and systems 
•    Design and operate all processes with a relentless passion for embedding and reflecting our organizational values and DEI best practices

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 

•    7+ years building and operating People / HR processes and functions including Talent Acquisition, Policy Compliance, Compensation and Benefits 
•    3+ years of People Leadership experience, with a passion for development and creating inclusive environments 
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Human Resources or related field (HR professional accreditation preferred) 
•    Experience managing HR platforms and systems, including both HRIS and ATS (implementation experience preferred)
•    Strong working knowledge of employment law and associated regulations (preferably with Ontario-regulated business)
•    Proven ability to build collaborative and trusted relationships with business partners
•    Willingness to learn, share innovative ideas, and be challenged to see things differently 
•    Confident and effective communication skills – interpersonal, written, and verbal
•    Knowledge of the game of baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays is considered an asset
